The Alclad II Candy Orange Enamel Paint, packaged in a convenient 1oz bottle, is a must-have for model enthusiasts. Designed specifically for injection plastic kits, it requires a primer for optimal application. This enamel paint offers a striking finish that stands out on any project.
Before applying Alclad II, it’s essential to use a primer, such as Tamiya Plastic Primers (white or grey) or Auto Primers (white or grey). These primers should be lightly polished with 1000/1200 wet & dry paper for a less absorbent, glossy surface. For the best results, apply Alclad High Shine – Chrome and Polished Aluminium over a dark glossy base, such as Tamiya TS-14 gloss black or gloss black auto paint.
When spraying, set your airbrush to 15-20 psi and maintain a distance of 1.5 to 2.5 inches from the model. Unlike aerosol sprays, treat your airbrush like a paintbrush for precision. Buffing isn’t necessary, but tonal variation can be achieved by polishing selected panels with micromesh. While a sealer is not required, you can mask and overpaint regular Alclad. However, it’s advisable to avoid decal solutions with Chrome or Polished Aluminium finishes.
