Elevate your modeling projects with Alclad II Candy Golden Yellow Enamel Paint (1oz), renowned for its vibrant finish and quality. To achieve the best results on injection plastic kits, it’s essential to apply a primer beforehand. Regular ALCLAD paints are comparable to high-strength lacquer/cellulose car paints; however, they can cause crazing on injected polystyrene plastics.
For optimal application, we recommend using Tamiya Plastic Primers (white or grey) or Auto Primers (white or grey). Lightly polish these primers with 1000/1200 wet & dry paper for a less absorbent glossy surface. For ALCLAD High Shine products like Chrome and Polished Aluminium, a dark glossy base is necessary. Use Polished Aluminium over Tamiya TS-14 gloss black or gloss black auto paint, and reserve Chrome for glossy black model enamel paint.
When spraying, maintain a pressure of 15-20 psi. Hold the airbrush 1½ to 2½ inches from your model, treating it like a paintbrush rather than an aerosol for best results. Buffing isn’t required, but you can create tonal variations by polishing specific panels with micromesh. A sealer is unnecessary, and Regular ALCLAD can be masked and over-painted. While decal solutions work with Regular ALCLAD, they aren’t recommended for Chrome or Polished Aluminium finishes.
